  • _ Nigeria vs Libya preview 1 _

Super Eagles players arriving to schedule is good to hear.

On this first part of my preview, I will like to focus on my perceived threat posed by the Libyan.

Adel Amrouche’s men went to South Africa to grind out a hard fought draw in September putting them firmly in the driving seat of Group ‘E’.

For those of us who remember,Libya’s Coach, Adel Amrouche, was coach of Kenya in 2013 when they held Nigeria to a tedious 1-1 draw in Calabar.

This guy knows how to set his team to drain the life out of a match to get the result he wants.

Nothing but a victory will suffice for the Super Eagles on home soil .

Former Nigeria International Felix Owolabi had this to say in The Guardian recently regarding the Libyans: “Every player in that (Libyan) team is very strong, agile, determined and ready to roar.

They play like a compact team, a team that knows what it wants. They executed a good match plan against South Africa and they got a result.

If they are playing at home, they can beat any team.” Finally adding:” Coach Gernot Rohr must be very careful. He must work very hard and improve on his tactics. Our win over Seychelles to me was not a big deal.”

So, we must indeed be weary of the Libyans. I watched highlights of their match against South Africa and found them to be surprisingly compact and reasonably well drilled.

They are no respecter of persons and definitely not a side to take for granted.

It is no fluke that they currently top the group.

Much as i respect your opinion, i still want to say that Libya is not a treat to Nigeria. They can get a draw not to talk of a win. I am not promising a win by wide margin but Nigeria will certainly win. Their coach had a game plan which worked perfectly against South Africa but hey, this is Nigeria. We have a different mentality and we have seen what they did against SA. I must tell you that the South Africans didn’t see that coming but we have seen it all. They played two games, win one and drew the other. They would have been a better treat should they beat SA. I can confidently say that the next time they will play against they, they won’t find it funny. Fingers crossed and Let’s see what Saturday holds for us. I wish Super Eagles the best.

Look, Nigeria will beat Libya hands down on Saturday. Home grown Nigeria team beat Libya only last year in Morocco by one nil. Come on, Ladies & Gentlemen, there is no fear. Our boys are real Pro. Only Ighalo is a problem. Everybody else is KO.

Many people have been talking about this Libyan team seriously. Although, I didn’t watch their match against South Africa but am very sure that they are not better than the Algerian team prior to the world cup qualifier. I think the super eagles will surmount them comes Saturday.
The only person who can make super eagles draw or loose the match on Saturday is our coach gernot Rohr. Because I most at times question his selections as well as his starting lineup. The man is very acephalous and obstinate to unfavorable starting line up most time.
If he select the right players to start the match on Saturday and put the right players on the substitute Bench and makes the substitution on the right time then, Nigeria will home and dry thereafter the match.

  • I watched the highlights of the SA/Libya match on another SS channel on the day SE were beating Seychelles. They’re good, but Nigeria will beat them — and I want to add both home and away.

Even SS Sport pundit Shaun Bartlett, who is know to have a secret jealousy and dislike for SE/Nigeria (along with one elderly white guy commentator – forgot his name), were visibly worried that Nigeria was back in the running. Why? He knew Nigeria will very likely win the rest of their matches in the group, including the one in SA against their Bafana.

Their opening day victory against the SE was a fluke. I repeat, a fluke. And the boastful coach suffered for it, as he felt on top of the world, got carried away by the fluke result and became overconfident. What was the outcome? Other teams brought them back to earth and they started losing left and right to Senegal, Cape Verde and the rest at home and away.

For me, Libyan team are favorite. Ask me why because they know what it’s at stake if they beat Nigeria in Nigeria.

They have upper hand over Nigeria because drawing against South Africa an away match is not a joke.

Sir, Rohr is not up to the task. Asked me why then I will explain. South African coach told Nigerians his plan and how he would handled the Super Eagles and he did just that and coach Rohr was no where to be found in that match.

If Nigeria win on Saturday, I will be very happy and I will say thank you God but if not, I wouldn’t be surprised because the truth already bn told.

This is the better truth which every Nigerian hates to heard but we have to be sincere with ourselves. IRE O. Good luck. God bless Nigeria!!!

If Nigeria wins then you will stop writing negativities!

If Nigeria wins….you will say thank you God….but if nigeria looses…you will say G. Rohr is bad.
Learn to give accolades to whom it is due..!

    • Libya do not have the upperhand as they do not have the quality to beat us. Omo9ja, you forget that the matches we lost recently were to the top teams in the world not Africa. One of the teams got to the World Cup final. You do know, that since the South Africa match we have only drawn 2 matches to African sides and won the rest. The African teams we beat are way better than Libya so i can’t understand what you are talking about.

  • My fear is Mr. Rohr b.cos he lack game plan. He is too poor in selection. substitution and whom to start. I pray he should not use Iheanacho in the midfield and continue to bench John Ogu for 90 min. I knw He will not fail to start his Boy Ighalo ahead of Isaac Success. Or start making his substition at 86 min. I wish super eagles gud luck
