By Johnny Edward:
Wilfred Ndidi made his 13th EPL appearance for ten-man Leicester City who recorded a 1-1 draw away to Brighton Hove Albion coming off the substitute’s bench at the Amex Stadium, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

It was the first time in three EPL seasons that the 21-year-old, Ndidi was dropped from the Foxes’ starting line-up.

Glen Murray scored a brilliant header in the 15th minute of the game to hand the Seagulls the lead but Jamie Vardy restored parity from the spot for Leicester City.

Brighton had Leon Balogun on the substitute’s bench for the entire duration of the game.

Ndidi came on for Vicente Iborra in the 32nd minute after James Maddison was sent off for a second bookable offence.

His compatriot, Kelechi Iheanacho replaced Shinji Okazaki in the 70th minute for his fifth substitute appearance this season in the 12 games he has featured in.

Iheanacho had a chance to make it 2-1 for Leicester City when he found space in the Brighton box but his left-footed shot was saved comfortably by Mathew Ryan in goal for Brighton.

The 22-year-old, Iheanacho also missed another glaring chance after he was teed up by Vardy in the 89th minute, but his effort from the edge of the area rolled past the post.

In another EPL game at the Vicarage Road, Isaac Success came on for Gerard Deulofeu in the 57th minute for Watford who lost 3-0 at home to ten-man Liverpool.

The game was Success’ ninth substitute appearance of this season for Watford. The Super Eagles forward has featured in all 13 EPL games for Watford this season.

Mohamed Salah scored the opener in the 66th minute of the nervy encounter. Trent Alexander-Arnold doubled the Reds lead in the ten minutes later before Roberto Firmino secured the third.

At Old Trafford, Manchester United were held to a goalless draw by Crystal Palace. The draw was Crystal Palace’s first EPL point at Old Trafford since 1989.

Everton defeated Cardiff City 1-0 at Goodison Park.

Fulham recorded their second win of the season defeating Southampton 3-2 with new coach Claudio Ranieri at the dugout.

  • I wouldn’t fathom the wisdom behind the coach subbing on Ndidi instead of starting him in the match. The coach knows better though.
Iheanacho needs to seriously watch it and improve. He firstly needs to shed some weight as of necessity. His form has been nosediving.
Leon Balogun has been a perennial bench warmer at his club. This is worrisome and insalubrious for his international carreer, although Coach Rohr would always field him, whether he plays for his club or not. He needs to do something fast to arrest the trend of his inactivity at club level.
It is good that Isaac Success is getting to have some play time under his belt. Gradually he will improve. I’m happy he is getting to be more focused after the initial blip of being entangled in a face-off with some call girls and also his injury set-back.
In general, our players should be more hardworking and always push harder.

Leon’s inactivity is not due to lack of quality. He was actually bought to be a back up for Dunk and shane Duffy in defence. Both are among d best players for Brighton. I believe his time will come. Sadly for Iheanacho am really worried. Hes getting more ordinary by the day, getting poorer daily. As u said he needs to shed some weight and work harder. For Success, hes involves in almost every match but hardly ever scores. He needs to work harder too. May God bless them and bless Nigeria.

        Sir I concur regarding Iheanacho.
Look, there is still something special about him but he doesn’t always look that exciting anymore.
The guy is Mr Inconsistency Personified.
One minute he is really good, the next he is really poor.
What has worked in Iheanacho’s advantage was the blistering start to his career in the premier league with Man City.
He is a country mile away from that form.
With so many more ‘exciting’ young players coming up in football across the globe, Iheanacho better sit up or else he will go the way of the dinasours.
It will be a shame though because for one who holds so much promise, the manifestations have been few and far between….

Eze bagged two assists today against Etebo’s stoke city in the championship. Plans should be made to call him up for the Seychelles game.

CSN also failed to report that despite Ihenacho missing some glaring chances, he was also the one who created the penalty that was converted by Vardy i.e he was a threat on the pitch all through his duration unlike Isaac Success whom i watched play against Liverpool and added absolutely nothing to his team when he came on. We should also be informed about ADELEKE AKINYEMI who is still scoring goals and commanding a startinng shirt as he also did today for IK Start, Norway and Musa Mohammed too is also starting regularly for HNK Gorica

  • Seems the writer forget to note that he was the one who caused the penalty for their goal cos of his several misses in that match. I still belief his goal will come just for him to work hard..
