Tottenham Hotspur boss, Mauricio Pochettino, says that lots of teams are challenging current Premier League league leaders Chelsea for the title this season, and believes Spurs can hit the top spot should Antonio Conte's team falter, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The North London team are currently second in the English Premier League table, nine points behind the Chelsea, with Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United having mathematical chances of winning the EPL title.
Ahead of his side's clash with Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday, the Argentine tactician believes there's still time to catch up with The Blues with 14 games left to play.
"A lot of teams are contenders. There are a lot of games ahead, it's true Chelsea take a massive gap – nine points is a massive gap – but there is time," Pochettino states during his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
Pochettino is also aware that he could be without left-back Danny Rose for the game after the England international saw a specialist about his knee earlier this week.
"He is very positive, we are very positive,' Pochettino says. 'He is happy, talking with him now before the press conference, we are happy after he saw a specialist.
"It is not a big issue. A minor problem, small problem.
"We hope ASAP, he can be available again. There are too many rumours, we need to be patient. He is very optimistic, we are happy and you will see. It's only time."
He also confirms the Spurs have re-appointed Steve Hitchen as chief scout.
Hitchen has already began work at the club on Monday, resuming a role he previously held under former boss Harry Redknapp.
"The club will announce,' Pochettino says. 'Hitchen is true. But we will wait that the club announce.'
