Other notable names on the list are; Borussia Dortmund right-back, Lukasz Piszczek; Grzegogz Krychowiak who plays for English Premier League club West Bromwich Albion and Monaco’s centre-back, Kamil Glik.

“With the matches in Wroclaw and in Chorzów at the Silesian Stadium, we are starting our full preparation for the World Cup in Russia,” Nawalka told the Poland Football Federation official website.

“Matches against tough opponents like Nigeria and South Korea will be a great opportunity to improve our organization of the game and check specific tactical and personal solutions.

“The selection of opponents was made in terms of optimal preparation for group matches at the World Cup.

“The composition of the team is based on players checked in previous matches of the team and maintaining the appropriate disposition in their clubs.

“We will continue to closely monitor national and international matches, aiming to increase competition for a place in the World Cup squad. The debutants will also get a chance.

“A short and intensive grouping awaits us. We want to optimally use this time and take another step to raise the level of the team.

“I will announce the list of players from the Polish league for the games on Friday, March 16.”

  • I think we have players plying their trade abroad than they do. I personally love this test match to assess how our Defenders can cope with LEWANDOWSKI Cuz the guy is simply amazing. If they(our Defenders) can frustrate him and hold him down, believe me Nigerians have no cause to worry @the world cup cuz our defenders will pin down any world class strikers

    • What difference does it make…..Nigerians want to win world cup with average players…. Nawa for us oo

Our best defenders and defensive midfielders should be fielded to see how they’ll cope against lewandowski and others in the polish team. Up super eagles.

I think Poland are a stronger team than Iceland. They also made it to the quarter finals at the Euro two years ago where they lost to eventual champions Portugal on penalties. It’s a very good test match for the SuperEagles to determine how we can approach the game against Iceland at the Mundial. Scandinavian teams have always been really tough for us at the WorldCup. Denmark and Sweden in the past. The Serbia game will be a good test to prepare for Croatia. They are all from the old Yugoslavia. We’ve already defeated Bosnia at the last WorldCup, so I feel the SuperEagles will play a great game against Modric, Rakitic, kovasic and co. Argentina with Messi, Dybala, Higuain, Aguero are always favorites, but they can be eliminated. That’s why I’m loving the series of friendlies lined up for the team. We’ve got a young SuperEagles with big hearts that will make Africa proud come June/July. #FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE#

    • Good points you raised…but Croatia is on another playing field compared to Bosnia… So don’t be too overly optimistic
