Puel: Why “Quality Player” Musa Has Been Frozen Out At Leicester

Puel: Why “Quality Player” Musa Has Been Frozen Out At Leicester

By Adeboye Amosu:
Leicester City will make a decision on the future of their Nigeria import Ahmed Musa in January, Even as the manager of the club Claude Puel has explained why the Super Eagles star has not had game time.
Musa joined the Foxes from Russian club CSKA Moscow last season but has struggled to make an impact since the move.
He is yet to feature in a Premier League game for the former champions this season.
The former Kano Pillars winger however featured once in a Carabao Cup clash against Sheffield United in August where he scored for the club in their 4-1 win.
He has made four appearances for Leicester City U-23s.
Puel hinted that Musa is one of several players whose futures will be reviewed when the transfer window opens in January.
“It’s not the time to speak about if he can bring something to the squad or if he can leave the squad in January,” Puel told BBC Sport.
“We’ll look at all the players. At the moment the status quo remains.”
The Frenchman said Musa’s lack of game time was down to strong competition in the squad.
“He’s a good player with quality. For me he’s not a striker, he’s a winger who can play on the left or right,” Puel explained.
“He can attack space, has good penetration but there’s imbalance in competition with (Marc) Albrighton, (Demarai) Gray and (Riyad) Mahrez.
“Sometimes it’s tough, it’s difficult for the staff to make a choice and give him more game time but in training sessions he always has a positive attitude and this is very important for him and the squad.”
Musa himself will be considering his future as he will be hoping to force his way into the Nigeria squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

So his just a training material abi…. abge musa runoooooo even if is china.

  • Musa should be blamed for his trouble in Leicester. He has not been featuring even before this coach came. Grey was also not featuring in matches but now he is super regular. Claude Puel is a French citizen while Grey is an English player. So it cannot be nepotism or tribalism here. Musa is not pulling his weight while Grey has improved and so is enjoying it. I believe age has finally caught up with Musa. Football age is different from natural age. You cannot cheat nature o.

I still don’t understand what Musa is still doing in LFC . He should talk to his agent and leave immediately, I know it’s not easy but for an established player, he can get a mid table decent club faster. Why did he even leave Moscow where he has started wearing the captains arm band, playing well and delivering week in week out and playing champions league football which he competed amongst top clubs like Madrid.
