West Brom manager, Tony Pulis, has praised Victor Anichebe for his versatility after the Nigerian forward thrived in a new midfield role in Wednesday's Capital One Cup game against Norwich City.
Anichebe was played in holding midfield in front of the back four and put up a wonderful performance in the encounter despite playing in the position for the first time in his career.
And Pulis was delighted to see the Nigerian forward shine in his new role.
"When we have done games in training, we have played him in the pocket and he has performed exceptionally well," Pulis told West Brom's official website.
"I just wanted to see him in a proper game and he did well at times.
"He is a very good passer who can switch play and open things up.
"I think he enjoyed it, but he ran out of steam in the last 20 minutes and found it more difficult in there than upfront.
"But it was a good opportunity to see him play and he did his best."
