By Adeboye Amosu: Enugu Rangers centre-back Kalu Orji is happy to see his side back on top of the Nigeria Professional Football League table, but warned they must continue improve in order to end their title drought, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
The Flying Antelopes shot to the top position in the table following a 2-1 win against Oriental neighbours Abia Warriors at the Nnamdi Azikwe Stadium, Enugu on Friday.
The Coal City side are without a league title in 32 years.
Former Leaders, Wikki Tourists would reclaim first top position should they beat or earn a draw against Warri Wolves in their matchday 26 fixture on Sunday.
But home- based Eagles star, Orji, is happy to see his side sit in top position even if it is for 48 hours and is hopeful they can win the title at the end of the season.
"It's a wonderful thing to be the league leaders even though everything could still on change, but we are happy to beat Abia Warriors at home,"Orji who joined Rangers from Oriental rivals, Heartland revealed to Completesportsnigeria.com.
"They (Abia Warriors) made it tough for us in the second half and we really have to be at our best to ensure they did not come back to get a draw.
"I hope Warri Wolves will beat Wikki Tourists tomorrow (Sunday) so that we can stay in number one position.
"Our target is to win the title and even if we go back to second position, it still doesn't have our chances of becoming champions at the end of the campaign.
"But we still to put more work into it by working hard in training and also improving our performances."
