Rangers Slash Obuh’s Pay

Rangers coach John Obuh has had at least 600,000 Naira sliced off his July salary, just as his players are now likely to go on half pay.

Obuh is on about 1.4 million Naira a month, but has been placed on half pay after the team’s poor run towards the end of the first round of the league season.

He was also handed a four-game ultimatum for the second round and he has so far won one (2-0 vs El Kanemi) and lost the other (2-1 vs Nembe City).

Officials have also said the players may now be placed on half salary this month if they failed to step up their game.

And in the meantime, the players, who have received their enhanced salaries of June, have been grumbling over the higher taxes they now have to cough out.

Most of the players had as much as 18,000 Naira deducted from their salaries, when they previously paid 2,000 Naira as tax.

“When did they start collecting 18,000 Naira as tax from me?” questioned a baffled player.

  • You guys should buckle up,rangers is not a team for the 15th position. i want to see rangers fighting for the league winner, i now begin to wonder if coach John Obuh deserved to be the coach of rangers or deserve to be without a job, this the worst season i have ever witness, rangers cannot even play away draw not to talk of winning. Forgetting that 20% of super eagles players are from rangers. Any loss again, i suggest the coaching crew should be changed to see where the problem is coming from. Good luck to rangers
