–FC Taraba go top of log after win at Akwa United
FC Taraba went top of the Glo Premier League log Sunday after a 1-0 win at 9-man Akwa United. Bobby Abel’s strike 26 minutes from the start handed the Jalingo boys all three points as they raced to the top of the log for the first time in their two years in the top flight.
Akwa United had their goalkeeper, Kayode and Godspower Igudia sent off in the game, forcing the Zachary Baraje men to complete the game with nine men.
Enugu Rangers made their home advantage count following a hard fought 2-1 win over visiting Sharks of Port Harcourt. Rasaq Adegbite handed the Coal City side the lead but Yusuf jaiyeola restored parity for the Blue Angels before the break.
However, Marshal Oda became Rangers hero when he struck the match winner with only four minutes remaining on the clock.
It was a not a pleasant start to life in the Premier League for Shooting Stars who went down 1-2 to visiting Heartland of Owerri at Adamasingba Stadium, Ibadan on Saturday.
