Real Madrid To Take Ebola Precautions

–At the World Club Championship in Morocco

Real Madrid will take all necessary precautions against the Ebola virus when they contest this year’s World Club Championship.

The tournament is due to take place in Morocco from December 10 to December 20 and Carlo Ancelotti’s men will be based in Rabat, the country’s capital.

Although Ebola has not yet reached Morocco, it is close to countries where the epidemic has been killing dozens of people daily, and the club’s director of institutional relations Emilio Butragueno insists they will be guided by the medical authorities.

“It is certainly an issue over which we will need to be alert. We are two months away and we’ll be listening to what the authorities and experts tell us.

“We’ll respect whatever they recommend because the medical people know exactly what they are doing,” said Butragueno in an interview with AS.

The host country has already asked for the postponement of the African Nations Cup in January and February 2015, given that some of the countries scheduled to take part have been caught up in the Ebola outbreak.

However, the World Club Championship is understood not to be under threat as there will be fewer teams taking part, while visiting fans will be coming from continents the virus has not yet reached.
