Cristiano Ronaldo proved his class once again as he bagged a brace in Real Madrid’s 2-1 away win against Eibar in their Spanish LaLiga clash at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurua on Saturday.
The Portugal star has now scored 14 goals in his last eight outings in Spain’s top flight this season.
Zinedine Zidane’s men remain in the third position with 54 points with the win, 15 points behind runaway leaders Barcelona.
The visitors as expected dominated proceedings but Eibar also created a number of half chances in the game.
Ronaldo put the European champions ahead in the 34th minute following a beautiful pass from Luka Modric.
Croatian playmaker Modric who had not kicked a ball since February 14 due to injury played a sublime pass to Ronaldo who fired the ball into the net from 12 yards.
Eibar equalised five minutes after the break through Ivan Ramis following a corner-kick.
Ramos nodded the ball into the bottom corner after meeting Pedro Leon’s corner.
Ronaldo nearly scored his second of the game in the 62nd minute from a delightful Gareth Bale cross but his effort was saved by the Eibar goalkeeper.
Real looked rattled afterwards with the hosts coming close to scoring the winning goal a couple of times.
Ronaldo however came to the home team’s rescue with the winner five minutes from time.
Eibar conceded possession in manner like they did in the build-up to Real’s first goal and the Portuguese nodded home the crucial goal off a Dani Carvajal cross.
