Manchester United’s plans to offer deals to David de Gea and Anthony Martial are being hampered by Alexis Sanchez, reports claim.
Martial’s future has been shrouded in doubt with some reports claiming that Jose Mourinho would have been happy to offload him in January, with Tottenham keen, before Ed Woodward blocked the deal.
The 22-year-old has gone on to shine this season and was again on target as the Reds came from behind to beat Bournemouth 2-1 at the Vitality Stadium yesterday.
United are now keen to get him tied down to a new deal, along with De Gea, who is being linked with a potential switch to Italian giants Juventus at the end of the season.
However it is claimed that the £400,000 a week that Sanchez, who signed in January, is being paid, is giving the Reds little room to manoeuvre.
Hence the reports earlier in the week which suggested United are keen to get the Chilean off the wage bill and would even consider a cut-price fee, with Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested.Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
