Remo Stars hotshot striker and Captain, Victor Mbaoma, is looking forward to the resumption of the second half of the Nigeria Professional Football League when he hopes to score more goals for dedication to his late father, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Mbaoma is currently bereaved following the death of his father, Pa Richard Mbaoma, who was aged 80.
''I have scored seven goals so far, and hopefully, will get more when the second half of the season starts," Mbaoma told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"My motivation so far is just to see Remo Stars climb up the league table and possibly overtake some of the guys in front of me.
"Is my target to catch up with Stephen Odey? Well, the overall interest of the club matters most, not just to surpass the scoring feats of players ahead of me on the chart, but if it happens that way, fine. I will dedicate that achievement to the memory of my late father."
Remo Stars are deep in relegation trough as they are currently 20th in the twenty-team NPFL table with 19 points from 18 matches.
