By Adeboye Amosu: Players and officials of Go Round FC have been rewarded with N50m for securing promotion to the Nigeria Professional Football League and winning the Bet9ja Nigeria National League Super Four competition, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Wike also gave the team a brand new Coaster bus, while members of the club’s supporters club were also not left out of the largesse as they also got N10m.
The governor also promised to sponsor the team to a training tour outside the country if they secure a continental ticket via the league at the end of the season.
The Omoku club, which is privately owned, secured promotion to the top flight after coming second behind Heartland Football Club of Owerri in the Southern Conference of the NNL last season.
They won the NNL Super Four last week at the Agege Stadium, Lagos, edging out Heartland 2-1 in the final.
Their debut game in the NPFL against Wikki Tourists ended with in a 1-0 defeat. They host Akwa United in a match day two fixture today in Omoku.
