Brendan Rodgers has described Jordon Ibe as “absolutely sensational” after he made his return to Liverpool training this week.
The Anfield winger has been missing since February after suffering a knee injury in the Europa League defeat to Besiktas.
In that time, Rodgers has been forced to chop and change his personnel at right-wing back, including a recent spell for Raheem Sterling out there.
But Ibe is now back fit – and after praising the 19-year-old, he revealed he could make it into their team for Monday’s Premier League clash against Newcastle United.
He said: Jordon Ibe will come back in. I have got to say, he has looked absolutely sensational in training.
“He has been out for a while but he has been out on the field for a couple of weeks now, doing his preparation work and he has joined in training.
“He has looked absolutely outstanding – he has got real natural fitness. He’ll come into the squad for Monday night. Some of the others that have been out are still out.
It’s a boost for Liverpool as they go into the final games of the season with faint hopes of securing a Champions League spot for next term.
