An elder words that doesn’t counts in the morning, might counted afterwards. “ORO AGBA TI O BASE LOJO OWURO, ASĘ LOJO ALĘ”.

That is to say, Mr. Okocha the magician himself told Oga Rohr to played Iwobi in this role in Russia but refused to do so and in the end, sir Rohr was really angry about Jayjay’s statements and he benched Iwobi at the world cup. Now, he’s trying to do as Jayjay have said.

If Sir Rohr is finally played Iwobi in that role on Saturday, he holds Mr. Okocha an apology.

As we can see now, we really needed our ex players with our coaching staffs in Eagles team. I think Mr. Amaju Pinnick is watching bah?
    God bless Nigeria!!!

Better to start Success ahead of Ighalo. Iwobi should be the number 10 going forward. Kalu has walkedstraight into the SuperEagles first 11. Musa, Kalu, Iwobi and Success will be a devastating front line. Kelechi, Onyekuru and Simon on the bench is good for the SuperEagles in the double header.

  • Make una never smile yet oooo.
Rhor go start ighalo on saturday.
I have a feeling the man dont care about us at all.
Pinic don tellam sat , dont mind nigerians.

  • wow! terrorist starting lineup. mostly terrorist attack. but i dont think rohr wil bench ighalo. wen we initially told oga rohr to play iwobi #10, he said we re not inteligent enough to advice him as black pple. now who is more inteligent. soon u wil knw ighalo also.

  • Good decision.

  • _ Formation Flexibility _

My only concern about the contents of the article above is that both the Possibles and Probables played with
    4-2-3-1 formation.

I am not a coach neither was I at the actual training ground but would it not have been wise to play one of the teams in a different formation?

We all saw how this formation was lethal in world cup qualifiers but lame at world cup build-ups and in the match against Croatia.

There are so many formations out there and Rohr hinted at one press conferences that he may try a formation with 2 strikers – a formation that suits his preferred number 9, Ighalo.

In the build up to the world cup (and in matches against Argentina and Iceland) 3-5-2 – which is also preferred by England boss Gareth Southgate – brought out the best and made Rohr’s boys play better.

I don’t think he is a fan of this formation as he was only forced to re-deploy it after 4-2-3-1 failed spectacular in the match against Croatia.

One of the greatest criticisms levelled against Rohr is his propensity to “do the same things the same way but expect different results”.

He has the tools to do the job as the Super Eagles has the most decent selection of players across departments in recent times.

Rohr just needs to be: savvy with his team selection, position players properly, institute the right balance and his players should play with the right verve and panache.

With these group of players, there has never been a better time to be Super Eagles coach.

    All eyes on Rohr.

Please permit me to quotyou once again, @ deo: “Rohr just needs to be: savvy with his team selection, position players properly, institute the right balance and his players should play with the right verve and panache.”

That is exactly what I have observed about this coach. He is stiff and lacks creativity (no offence intended). Previous Super Eagles coaches will envy the talents at his disposal (and the working environment that the NFF has created for him). He has to take advantage of these.

    My random thoughts:

●Drop Shehu for Aina and you are good to go.

    ● Mikel’s abscence is a big blessing if Iwobi is given the number 10 role. I am of the opinion that Mikel should start games from the bench and gradually phased out of the Super Eagles. He has done a good job for Nigeria but his legs are getting tired now. I was glad when he didn’t show up.

    ● Maybe Rohr has decided to tow the line of common sense at last by dropping Ighalo to the bench.

    @Bomboy. …Good of u.
Shehu! My only concern in the line up.
He had been injured since and Aina is performing well for torino. Does this means Aina will still be side lined when Ebuehi finally shows up?

  • @deo and Bomboy, you guys thrilled me with your analysis. Not sure I need to add anything. Keep it coming.

Rohr is really spoilt for choices, especially upfront and at the back. Simon Moses benched!? Wow! Now, that’s some talented team! Who else is still missing Victor Moses? Even people rarely bat an eyelid these days when Mikel Obi skips matches. LOL.

Rohr just needs to get his selection and formation right and we’re good to go with any team in the world. Chikena.

  • I don’t think Nigeria lacked talents. What we had were Nigerian coaches with big heads who want to quarrel with players and show them who’s the boss. Like every department in Nigeria, these coaches were corrupt and played players from whom they benefitted. Rohr came in from a neutral perspective and invited players based on merit.

Nigerians and their wahala. He didn’t play Iwobi as no 10 they complained now he is abt to play him they still complain. He is always playing Ighalo they complained and now he is abt to be dropped they re still complaining. Nigeria which way now don’t u know all these things u re doing is a distraction and can confuse someone?

  • My starting 11
    Uzoho
    Semi/aina Leon ekong idowu
    Ndidi Etebo
    IWOBI
    KALU SUCCESS MUSA

Rohr will start Ighalo and Shehu on Saturday, that man doesn’t listen. A better coach would explore the combination of Indidi, Etebo, and Iwobi in the midfield. Musa, Kalu, Success, should ve our attackers. But Rohr will  start Iheanacho, Shehu, Ighalo, Onazi.

  • Chima E Samuels 1 week ago

Sunnyb I believe Kelechi and success combo might be a great test since they once shared a good understanding on pitch but iwobi success will not be a bad idea either whichever way Rohr will still his man Ighalo.

    Aina Leon Ekong Collins
    Ndidi Etebo
     Iwobi

  • @Empire,
Good list, but Aina is not very mobile, and sometimes too care free.
I hope he has mature some more in his game since going to Italy.
That said , I will prefer shehu to start the Ain can come in as a sub.

    NGR vs LYB

    4-2-4 team play formation !!

This 4-2-4 is Nigerian strongest formation based on the immense talents at SE disposal.

    During the game; this formation allows a team to ;
Play the 4-2-3-1 (defence in our half)
Play the 3-2-2-3 (attack on the flanks)
    Play the 3-5-2 (counter attack)

    The players (actors) should include;
    – Uzoho
    – Shehu/Ola – Leon – Ekong – Collins
    – Ogu – Ndidi
    – Kelechi – Iwobi – Success – Musa

Subs (must be done in a timely manner)
    Midfiled
    – Etebo (attack oriented) if the goals has not yet come
    – Onazi (Defence oriented) if goals are scored and we have to defend the 3 points
    Attack
    – Kalu (Kelechi)
    – Simon (Musa)
    Defence
    – Omeruo (Aina/Leon)

Just a suggestion of a die-hard citizen of a blessed Nation!
