Roma are considering a January move for Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech, according to reports in Italy.
The Czech Republic international is out of favour at Stamford Bridge, where he is behind Thibaut Courtois in Jose Mourinho’s pecking order this season.
The Serie A side currently have 37-year-old Morgan De Sanctis and back-up Lukasz Skorupski available, so they are hoping to take advantage of Cech’s disgruntlement to upgrade their options.
They could now submit a bid for Cech in the January transfer window, according to Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
The report suggests that he would be eased into duties by sharing responsibilities with De Sanctis while he acclimaties to life in a new country.
He would then become out-and-out first choice next season.
Cech recently admitted that a transfer could be on the cards.
