Roma Striker Perotti Eager To Make Argentina’s 2018 World Cup Squad

Roma striker, Diego Perotti, has stated that he will do everything possible to make Argentina’s 23-man squad to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
La Albiceleste  are in Group D with Nigeria, Croatia and debutant Iceland. They will open their campaign against Iceland.
Perotti has made four appearances for Argentina since making his debut in 2009 in a 2-1 friendly loss to Spain in Madrid.
This season, he has scored five goals in 22 Serie A games for Roma, trailing the Capital team’s top scorer Edin Dzeko (13 goals) by eight goals.
He was on target as Roma defeated title hopefuls Napoli 4-2 away on Saturday.
The former Sevilla star who won the 2014 UEFA Europa League with the Laliga side, said aside from Lionel Messi, Argentina have other quality players who can deliever.
“Argentina has great players to compete for the World Cup. There isn’t just Messi,” Perotti told GolDeVestuario.
“If Leo is in good form there’s an 80% chance of winning the match, he’s the best in the world. Lautaro Martinez? He’s truly playing well, he’s performing at a very high level.
“I want to give my best and earn a spot for the World Cup. For a manager it’s not easy keeping out players like Icardi and Dybala, but unfortunately the spots are limited.”
Perotti is expected to feature for Argentina in their double-header friendlies against Italy and Spain on 23rd and 27th respectively after he was included in Jorge Sampaoli’s 22-man squad for the games.
