Roma’s Bosnia Star: We’ll Clip Eagles ‘Wings’ On Saturday

Bosnian playmaker Miralem Pjanic is optimistic of his side’s chances of winning Saturday’s game against the Super Eagles at the Arena Pantanal stadium in Cuiabá.

Both teams need a win to stand a chance of advancing to the next round of the competition and the Roma star who scored six times and provided six assists in 27 appearances for Giallorossi in the Seria A last season believes his side are better than the reigning African champions. “I believe in our team. I do respect Nigeria but we are the better team. We are going to win this,” he tweeted.

The Roma midfielder was the only Bosnian to complete more than 90 per cent of his passes and he created four chances for his team-mates, the most in his team. Only Lionel Messi was able to match that amount of creativity in last Sunday’s 2-1 loss to the South Americans.

He has scored eight goals in 48 caps for his country, although many of them have come from memorable long-range efforts and free-kicks.

Meanwhile coach Safet Susic has revealed that there will be one new name in the starting line up against Nigeria.
