Rotherham United defender, Richard Wood has expressed confidence that the experience of team-mate and former Nigeria international, Osaze Odemwingie, can help them avoid relegation, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Rotherham are currently bottom of the 24 team English Championship League with just one win in 16 league games (four draws).
Odemwingie, who signed an initial deal with the club until January 2017, made his debut as a second half substitute in their 3-1 loss to Preston North End last Saturday.
But Wood, who got Rotherham's goal against Preston off Odemwingie's assist, posited that the former West Brom and Stoke forward is still a top player who has a lot to contribute to their survival.
“He’s looked good in training and he made an immediate impact when he came on,” Wood told thestar.co.uk.
“He’s done well at the very top and he’s still got it. He was a real danger on the ball.
“Peter could be a big player for us in the next couple of months. He’s experienced and he can make things happen for us.”
