Nwakaeme is the bomb, two goals and one assist in a game is massive!. His composure for his second goal was super! He ghost passed three defenders before he calmly slotted the ball passed the goalkeeper.

  • _ Deo’s Weekend Hits and Misses _

    HITS:

    1. Iheanacho’s statement that even the World’s most expensive Goalkeeper can be humiliated as he did to Liverpool’s Allison.

    2) Nwakaeme’s near-one man show against Galastasaray with 2 well taken goals; the second one was simply and utterly brilliant!

    3) Onazi’s Roger Miller-type dance after scoring today. Is this boy back in town? Those who wrote him off may yet eat their words.

    MISSES :

    1) To whom much is given, much is expected but Onyekuru didn’t live up to expectations as he fired blanks and was duly subbed today.

    2) Etebo’s Stoke City lost again today to send a signal that both him as his team mates better get used to life in the English second tier league because at this rate, they are still going to be there next season.

    3) Omeruo; Balogun ; Amuzie ; Agbo : ALL RISE FOR THE PRESTIGIOUS CANDIDATES OF BENCH-WARMER OF THE MONTH.

Spot on on Nwakaeme. Regarding Onazi, we won’t humble pie. I don’t see a resurgence here. His time in the SE is over, especially as we have several promising young midfielders to call upon. It’s time he bowed out.

  • Onyekuru was on the back foot as they were playing ten men against 11. And it was the left back (wing back) behind him that was sent off.
That means less attack and more defending from his side of the field.

To be honest, Nwakaeme stole the show today. No need to mention anybody else lol

  • _ Spotlight on Sadiq _

Today’s old firm derby will a have renewed interest to me thanks to the availablity of 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Sadiq Umar.

With Stephen Gerard expected to play attacking football similar to that of Jungen Klopp, I can’t wait to see him face his old manager who is now in charge of Celtic with our very own lanky Sadiq Umar leading the attack.

In one of the derbies several seasons ago, Sone Aluko (remember him?) put up a performance of his life as Rangers ran away 3:2 winners against Celtic in a cracking game of football.

I am now looking forward to see how Sadiq Umar will rise to such an occasion. Hopefully if selected, he will put up a performance similar to that of Sone Aluko on March 2012.

Reflecting on the great goal he scored on the day, Aluko said: “It was pure instinct which made me drive to get one-on-one with the keeper. It was great to see the ball hit the net, and now on each anniversary of the goal, I get tweets about it from Rangers fans. I get at least five or six videos of it sent to me every year, too.”

In truth, it would be a surprise to see Sadiq start today as majority of his appearances since joining Rangers have been from the bench.

If he does come in, I hope he makes an impact that would announce him as a striker to be reckoned with in Scotland!

Watching Nwakaeme made me wonder why he wasn’t included in the world cup squad. Seems to be better than Ighalo and Simy combined. Another proof of Rohr’s incompetence and confusion.

    • Greenturf 3 weeks ago

But you guys don’t want him in the team until recently because of the obvious

  • Chairmanfemi 3 weeks ago

@Haymaker, I guess you were blind when Nwakaeme Started the match against Algeria. If you weren’t blind, then you will know that Nwakaeme was not in form then. And am sure you wil surely be among those that will Criticize the coach, call him all sort of names if he had selected Nwakaeme ahead of Ighalo and Simmy then.
And i don’t know the problem with some people sef. Simy Nwankwo has only had one full-match for Nigeria and his performance was very convincing. After that match, he has only come on as a late minute substitute. So i wonder make some people adjourn Simy as a bad striker. Which match did you use to judge him?

    • @Chairmamfemi, I tire o, eh. This Claymaker abi na crazinessmaker must be on some type of delusional medicament.
Can you just imagine what he and other ostrich brain buffoons like him would have said back then if Rohr had selected Nwakaeme and not Nwakali.
Then imagine if Nwakaeme had missed a chance similar to Ighalo.
It is clear to me now that that haymaking looney thinks with his feet and dances with his brain.

  • That is d problem with Nigerian. This guy only play one match and they started crucifying him to d extent of him being dropped.Mikel agu also got d same treatment. see what they did to Joel obi.. haba why re we like this? that is why i always cantered some people here to leave d coach alone to do his job
