Ruggedman: Ronaldo Return To United Would Be ‘Transfer Of The Decade’

Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo should be brought back to Manchester United to help the Red Devils reclaim their European dominance, Nigerian rap star Ruggedman has told Completesportsnigeria.com.

There is intense speculation that Ronaldo, who left United to join Real Madrid in 2009, could return to Old Trafford after he reportedly told Portugal teammates he is bent on leaving the Champions League holders in the wake of a tax evasion issue he is facing in Spain.

"What a signing that would be," Ruggedman said when asked about his thoughts on the possibilty of the big signing happening this summmer.

"Manchester United have not been the same since Sir Alex Ferguson retired but he can help speak with Ronaldo and have him back now that things are not going well for him in Spain. I will be delighted of course if it happens. That would be the transfer of the decade for me."

Speaking on United's decision to let go of Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is currently recuperating from injury, Ruggedman told Completesportsnigeria.com on Saturday: "Zlatan is a world class striker and it is unfortunate that he copped that injury. We heard that he will be offered another year at the club but the injury has messed that up. It is not what we wanted as United fans, you understand, but all the same, a Ronaldo return would compensate for that."

United's only signing so far has been Sweden defender Victor Lindelof from Benfica.
