France defender Bacary Sagna has warned his teammates of the threat posed by the Super Eagles of Nigeria ahead of their Round of 16 clash in Brasilia on Monday evening.
France topped Group E of the 2014 World Cup to set up the game against the African champions who were runners-up behind Argentina in Group F.
Sagna, who made his first appearance of the tournament in Wednesday’s stalemate against Ecuador gave notice of the problem Stephen Keshi’s men will pose.
“They are the best African team at the moment,” the Man City-bound Arsenal full-back said.
“They have very good players. Some play in the biggest European clubs, especially in England.
“They will fight and they have a lot of qualities. But we want to concentrate on ourselves. As players, we aspire to go as far as possible, to win trophies.
“It would be a failure not to win the title,” Sagna sounded.
