Saiss Happy To Continue Scoring

Wolves midfielder Romain Saiss was thrilled to continue his Boxing Day goalscoring tradition for the club. Saiss netted a late equaliser away at Craven Cottage as they drew 1-1 with Fulham to keep themselves in the top half of the table.

The Moroccan has found himself in the starting XI recently, with boss Nuno Espirito Santo starting to tinker with his line-up in comparison to the beginning of the season when he named the same players for the first nine games in a row.

However, the 28-year-old repaid the boss’ faith by scoring, continuing a tradition he has had since joining the club by scoring on Boxing Day, and Saiss is hoping his good luck will continue.

“I’m lucky to score every Boxing Day, so if we can play every Boxing Day – I’m going to say in my head that it’s the 26th December every time I play so I can score more goals,” he told the club’s website.

“The goal against Milwall [last Boxing Day] was better than this one, but it’s a goal and I’m very happy because it’s my first goal on the Premier League and I’m going to try and score more goals.

“It’s good, especially for the team, because I think we deserved this point. But now we have to recover because we’ve got another big game on Saturday.”
