Salah, Coutinho Score As Liverpool Bounce Back With Big Win Vs Bournemouth

Liverpool defeated Bournemouth 4-0 at the Vitality Stadium to move back into the Premier League top four on Sunday. Goals from Phillip Coutinho, Dejan Lovren in the space of six minutes gave Liverpool a 2-0 lead after 25 minutes. Mohamed Salah made it 3-0 before half time. Roberto Firmino sealed the win in the 66th minute.

The win was Liverpool’s first in three games after they failed to defeat Everton and West Brom at Anfield.

Coutinho scored a wonderful goal for the game’s opener in the 19th minute with a low drive past Asmir Begovic after he had skipped past two Bournemouth defenders with the ball from 30 yards out.

Lovren made it 2-0 with a diving header from close range after Rorberto Firmino flicked the ball back into the Bournemouth 18-yard box.

Salah missed a chance to make it 3-0 when his half volley was saved by Asmir Begovic in goal for the Cherries.

Salah made up for his earlier miss by turning Natan Ake inside out before curling his shot for his 14th league goal of the season on the stroke of half time. The goal was his 20th goal of the season in all competitions for Liverpool.

Firmino made it 4-0 with a header from Coutinho’s cross in the 66th minute.

Liverpool will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Friday while Bournemouth will travel to the Ethiad stadium to face Manchester City.

  • yeah they can win the epl now

  • Nigerian fans, you guys should stop being
sentimental and bias. Victor Moses is
nowhere near Mohamed Salah, yet you guys
wanted him to win the BBC Africa footballer
of the year award. Mohamed Salah is better
than than the entire super eagles team. He
will win the African footballer of the year
award ahead of average victor Moses. From
    a Cameroonian living in Nigeria.

how u compare a player who won the league last season with Chelsea and was very influential for his, with salah who has just played not even half of the season besides what did he achieve in the year 2017. then u say we are bayace. abeg park to Egypt

    • When was salah last season when Moses was dazzling for Chelsea enroute to the league title. For crying out loud Sarah just started playing good football when he joined Liverpool this season. Salah can not deny it this is best spell as a footballer. Mane even deserve it more than salah because he the brain behind Liverpool performance last season until he got injured toward the end of the season. So are u now telling me that performance of just 4 month is OK for a player to be named African footballer of the year. Salah would have been a better winner in 2018 edition that if he performs at the World cup
