Liverpool defeated Bournemouth 4-0 at the Vitality Stadium to move back into the Premier League top four on Sunday. Goals from Phillip Coutinho, Dejan Lovren in the space of six minutes gave Liverpool a 2-0 lead after 25 minutes. Mohamed Salah made it 3-0 before half time. Roberto Firmino sealed the win in the 66th minute.
The win was Liverpool’s first in three games after they failed to defeat Everton and West Brom at Anfield.
Coutinho scored a wonderful goal for the game’s opener in the 19th minute with a low drive past Asmir Begovic after he had skipped past two Bournemouth defenders with the ball from 30 yards out.
Lovren made it 2-0 with a diving header from close range after Rorberto Firmino flicked the ball back into the Bournemouth 18-yard box.
Salah missed a chance to make it 3-0 when his half volley was saved by Asmir Begovic in goal for the Cherries.
Salah made up for his earlier miss by turning Natan Ake inside out before curling his shot for his 14th league goal of the season on the stroke of half time. The goal was his 20th goal of the season in all competitions for Liverpool.
Firmino made it 4-0 with a header from Coutinho’s cross in the 66th minute.
Liverpool will face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Friday while Bournemouth will travel to the Ethiad stadium to face Manchester City.
