Super Sand Eagles goalkeeper, Godwin Ayalogu has attributed the Nigerian team's 6-1 thrashing of Morocco in the semi-finals of the 2016 CAF Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations.on Saturday to God's favour, and remains very thankful as a.beneficiary, of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup ticket, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Ayalogu was in superb form for the Sand Eagles as they brushed Morocco aside to qualify for the final and also pick one of Africa's two available tickets for the 2017 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Bahamas.
"Glory be to God, I am very happy and excited," an elated Ayalogu told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"I asked God for a favour and he granted it to me, which was to qualify for the World Cup. So I just want to say thank you to God."
Ayalogu also expressed his delight at the impressive manner the Sand Eagles controlled the semi-final match against Morocco, and never went behind in the early part of the game.
"It's a game where anything could happen. But I still give thanks to God for using me to help my team when the Moroccans were all over us."
And on Sunday's final against Senegal, Ayalogu said: "Hopefully, we will make Nigerians proud and we pray to God to grant us favour. I don't know how he is going to do it, but I am putting my trust on Him. We are going to do our best and leave the rest for God."
