VfL Wolfsburg manager, Martin Schmidt, says that Victor Osimhen is pushing hard for a starting place at the club following his impressive attitude in training sessions, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
Divok Origi has been the club’s first choice since he joined fron Liverpool with Osimhen and Landry Dimata the second and third choice strikers at the club.
Osimhen has made five substitute appearances in the Bundesliga this term, totaling just 22 minutes.
“They (Landry Dimata and Victor Osimhen) are not far off and are putting pressure on him (Origi),” Schmidt said during his pre-match press conference ahead of Saturday’s Bundesliga clash with Eintracht Frankfurt at the Volkswagen Arena.
“During the training sessions, it was made clear that we don’t just have Origi up front.
“What Divock has in his favour right now is that he scored in autumn. Dimata and Osimhen are doing really well though and I have every fate in the strikers I have available to me. The squad is better balanced now.”
The Green-Whites are 12th in the Bundesliga table with 20 points from 18 games.
