Senegal U-23 National Team Coach, Sougn Diao, says he will cherish a rematch with the Nigeria U-23 team following Saturday's 1-1 draw at the Kintele Stadium in the final group match of the men football event of the ongoing 11th All Africa Games in Congo Brazzaville, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Diao revealed that his team wanted to beat the Nigerian side so as to top the group and avoid a possible semi-final clash with the host country.
He regretted that the Nigerian team has quality which made his dream dificult to materialize.
Diao said at the post match briefing that his target of winning the All Africa Games men's football event gold medal remains intact despite the 1-1 draw with Nigeria and a likely semi-final clash with Congo Brazzaville.
"We're not afraid of Congo Brazzaville, they are a good side no doubt, but we are capable of beating them in the semi-finals to reach the final .
"There in the final, hopefully we can meet Nigeria again and if this happens, they won't escape defeat.
"The quality and tenacity of the Nigerian team enhanced their late equaliser. I thought we've wrapped up the game, but the Nigerians refused to give up and were rewarded with a late goal that gave them the draw," Diao bemoaned.
