Sharks eight match unbeaten run will be on the line when they file out this weekend against Warri Wolves at the Warri City Stadium.

The Blue Angels  have made a blistering start to the  season, suffering only two defeats from 14 games and currently sit at the top of the log with 26 points, two ahead of second placed Nasarawa United.

They face another stern test in their bid to win a first league title after comimg back from the dead to force a 3-3 draw againt Sunshine Stars at Akure last weekend.

That was followed by a scrappy home win against another top side,Rangers International of Enugu in midweek.

Handler of the side, Gbenga Ogunbote is not getting carried away by his side’s success so far but he is confident what they have achieved so far will boost the morale of the side as the season progresses.

“That game [against Sunshine Stars] will help us a lot because the players now know how good they are and that they can get a result at any venue, irrespective of the circumstances.

“Sharks have never won the league title. We are doing very well now but we cannot afford to get carried away because we have only played 14 games.

“The key remains taking things one step at a time and working hard every day in training. With God on our side, we will reach the promised land,” he said.

Fifth placed Warri Wolves though have dropped points only once at home this season, they will need to improve on their goalscoring form against the free scoring Sharks side.

The Seasiders have managed to score a paltry four goals from five games.
