–Eagles star pens Turkish league deal
Turkish Super Lig side Gaziantepspor have completed the signing of Nigerian Super Eagles striker Shola Ameobi.
Ameobi was released by Newcastle United at the end of last season, and was earlier linked with a move to Australia.
However Gaziantepspor have snapped up the striker who played for Nigeria at the World Cup in Brazil.
The club took to their official Twitter account on Monday to welcome Ameobi to the club.
The Nigerian striker was a second half substitute in Super Eagles goaless draw with iran in the opening match of the FIFA World cup group F match with Iran.
Before the Mundial in Brazil where the Super Eagles reached the Round of 16 before bowing out 0-2 to France, Ameobi had featured three times for the Super Eagles in the build up games against Burkina Faso, Scotland and Greece.
He switched allegiance to his fatherland, Nigeria after playing for England in the youth competitions.
