By Adeboye Amosu

Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Ike Shorunmu, is happy to see the country escape indefinite suspension from international football by FIFA, reports Completesportsnigeria. com.

FIFA had threatened to suspend Nigeria from all international competitions if Nigeria Football Federation president , Amaju Pinnick and general secretary, Mohammed Sanusi were not given back the effective control of he NFF and its offices by 12 noon, Monday, August 20.

But an intervention by the federal government who sent a letter to FIFA on Monday morning to intimate the world soccer ruling body of their support for the Amaju Pinnick led executive of the Nigeria Football Federation prevented the ban.

FIFA in a statement issued on Monday stated that the
the suspension of the NFF will not take effect after Pinnick and Sanusi were given back effective control of the NFF and its offices.

“I was particularly delighted when I heard the news. To be honest, I was a bit worried with the whole issue but not anymore,” Shorunmu told CSN.

“I’m happy for the players in particular who could have been affected by the ban and the media too.

” Now, we can work on improving the game in the country and the league can restart as well.

“All the stakeholders must come together and work for the good of the game. We can’t gain anything from crisis and misunderstanding.”

Ike it not all about been happy but rather have we learnt our lessons. Are we sure their will be no more governments interference in football related matters because NFF Election is around the corner will government not interfere by sponsoring and lubbying to bring their own person into office as this has been the order every four years. That is the main reason why no NFF president have served two term.
Amanju Pinnick has marketed the NFF as a brand to cooperate organizations and multinationals to partner with and it is working. He has done well for himself and Nigeria by working hard in terms of football administration that Nigerians are in every working or organising committees both in Wafu,CAF,and FIFA. This we only achieved during the era of Mr Amos Adamu.Since his ban and suspension its been wafu and caf only.
If Nigeria sports must grow then the government must give free hands to our different sports federations to work without interfering. But rather government should begin to invest in School sports that is sports in our primary, secondary and higher institutions to help discover and grow raw talent in sports. This where I believe government owe Nigerians support which will compliment the private sporting academic institutions.

Thank you Mr. Ayewoh, l duly recommend your last paragraph to the Minister of Sport, who has now turned out to be the worst sport Minister in Nigeria history. Millions of Nigerians everywhere believes that unless Solomon Dalung is removed as the Minister of Sport, Nigeria football will never move forward. He is there only to represent Giwa and his cohorts. Everything he does indicates that and everything he does equally is to undermine Mr. Pinnick efforts both at Home and Abroad. But if one looks at where Mr. Pinnick has taken our Football to, Nigerians are extremely happy as they are angry with the Minister of his lack of Sport knowledge and for his tribal tendencies. If Giwa was an Edoman, just like l am, would Solomon Dalung be so adamant in supporting him the way he is doing today. Of course not. But they are from the same Village near Jos and that is why he is doing this

If Buhari wants his Party to return to power in the forth coming Elections, his Sport Minister have got to go. He is not serving the Administration well and he is not serving the Sport for which he is a pretender and a bad one at that. In other wards, the Minister is absolutely useless.
