–Okagbare, Fraser-Pryce, Campbell-Brown, Michelle-Lee clash at Herculis Meeting

Nigeria’s reigning 100m queen, Blessing Okagbare is among the cast of elite sprinters that will compete for the maximum IAAF Diamond League points on Friday night at the Herculis Zepter meeting in Monaco.

Okagbare is yet to run inside 10 seconds this year and is ranked a distant fifth in the rankings for the Diamond League prize in the event with just two points, six behind log leaders, USA Tori Bowie who has also been confirmed for the one day meeting.

Also on the card are reigning world champion in the event, Jamaica’s Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pyrce who like Okagbare is yet to break 10 seconds this season as well as the two fastest women in the world so far this year, Trinidad and Tobago’s Ahye Mitchel-Lee (10.85secs) and Veronica Campbell-Brown of Jamaica (10.86 secs).

Cote D’Ivoire’s Murie Ahoure is one of only four athletes confirmed for the meeting who have run a sub-10 second this year (10.98).

Kemi Adekoya who has switched her allegiance from Nigeria to Bahrain will also be in action in the women’s 400m hurdles.

Adekoya holds a personal best of 54.49 seconds and has run two sub-55 seconds so far this year.
