By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:
Caretaker coach of the Super Eagles , Samson Siasia has labelled the home based national team players as a bunch of disappointment after they failed to beat Katsina United in a friendly game at the Abuja National stadium Thursday. The game ended goalless with Oghenekaro Etebo missing a second half penalty, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
"I am very, very disappointed with the performance of these players. They did not play like a national team at all, I did not see any sign of what I have taught them these past four days. I have told them my feelings. It is left for them to rise to the occasion or get dropped. They are a disappointment if you ask me," a disappointed Siasia told reporters after the match
"We have told them that they must raise their game or leave camp when they resume training next week after their clubs engagement this weekend . It is either they play to the national team standard or they will not follow us to Kaduna or I will be forced to rely on all foreign based players we invited."
Siasia who doubles as coach of the national Under-23 team continued: "I have released them to their respective clubs for this weekend's games and by the time they return on Sunday, it will be time to eliminate those who fail to measure up by dropping them from the Kaduna game against Egypt."
