National U-23 Eagles Coach Samson Siasia has told Complete Sports that he is expecting all the players released for Sunday’s Globacom Premier League games to return to camp today ahead of their Olympic Games qualifier against Congo, Complete Sports can report.
Media Officer of the team, Timi Ibikgboro told Complete Sports that the players were released on requests from their clubs and they are expected back in the camp today while players invited from Warri Wolves have been given permission to return on Tuesday as they will be hosting Kano Pillars later today in Warri.
“We are focused and preparing for our upcoming games. We are expecting the players released for league games to return to camp on Monday except Warri Wolves players because they will be playing their game on Monday,” says Ibikagboro.
“By the time everybody return to camp, we will continue our preparation but I must tell you that the team remains focused and the Head Coach is working hard to make sure that Nigeria qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games,” he added.
Meanwhile, Coach Samson Siasia says he will not underrate the Congolese who defeated Ghana to make it to the next stage of qualifiers.
“We are going to do our best to win our games against Congo, the fact that they beat Ghana shows they have good team and we are not going to underrate them.
