Daniel Sturridge is reported to have requested an extension to reply to the FA’s misconduct charge for alleged betting breaches. The 29-year-old was given until 6pm on Tuesday to officially respond to the charge, which is understood to centre on his loan switch from Liverpool to West Brom earlier this year.
Sturridge has stressed to his club he “categorically has never gambled on football” and his representatives are seeking more time from the independent judicial panel in order to answer the charge.
The judicial panel will consider whether to grant the request – which is a frequent occurrence in complex cases – and, if it acquiesces, by how long.
Sturridge was charged last week with breaches in relation to rule rule E8(1)(a)(ii) and rule E8(1)(b), during the period of January 2018.
If found guilty he could be fined or even suspended, depending on the severity of the breach.
After being hit with the charge, a spokesman for Liverpool said: “Daniel has also stated categorically that he has never gambled on football. “As with any issue of this nature, we will allow the process to be concluded in its entirety before making any further comment.” complete sports reports.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
