Suker: Messi Will Make The Difference For Argentina Against ‘Fearless’ Croatia

Croatia football legend Davor Šuker believes Argentina are favourites against his country in today’s Group D Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup game due to the presence of Lionel Messi but states they will go into the game without fear.
Argentina were held to a 1-1 draw debutants Iceland in their opening Group D game.
Croatia on their part, saw off the Super Eagles of Nigeria 2-0 and are currently top in the group.
“Argentina is the favorite because they have Messi,” Suker who was the highest goal scorer at the 1998 World Cup in France told Total Croatia News.
” It is not easy to play against them, but our players have to enjoy the match. If Argentina is better, they should congratulate them. Our match of truth will be against Iceland.
“He (Messi) is a player who can solve a game or hit a hat-trick. But we’re not afraid, and we were able to beat Germany, England, Italy… We have a young coach, and players with us who are our future and we have to play football. We are at the World Cup, and in the first round we saw a number of surprises.”
Šuker expressed surprise by the poor performance of Argentina at their opening match of the World Cup against Iceland.
“No one expected this, and I thought Argentina would celebrate 3:0. We are not afraid of Argentina or big teams like Germany and Spain. Croatia has nothing to lose and can achieve a lot.”
Commenting on Nikola Kalinic who was sent home by Croatia coach Zlatko Dalić after it was reported he refused to come on as a substitute against Nigeria, the current Croatia
Football Federation boss said: “I do not want to talk about Kalinić. He is in the past. We have to concentrate on the remaining 22 players.
