Sunshine Coach, Udi: ‘Good Side’ Rivers United Coming For Revenge, But We’re Confident

By Adeboye Amosu: Sunshine Stars head coach, Duke Udi, is expecting a tough outing in today’s Nigeria Professional Football League matchday-four fixture against Rivers United at the Akure Sports Stadium, reports Completesportsnigeria. com (CSN).

The Owena Waves suffered their first defeat of the campaign against Nasarawa United in Lafia on Sunday and will look to secure maximum points in the encounter.

Udi’s men did the double over Rivers United last season but the former Nigeria international is expecting a spirited figh from their opponents this time around.

“Rivers United are a good side with a fantastic manager (Eguma) that I look up to. It will be a tough game, like 50/50.

“We won at their home last season, so I know they are here for revenge. But for us, victory is non negotiable,” the former Nigeria international told the club’s official website.

“We are confident, but not over confidence. We respect Rivers United like every other team. I have told my players that we have to fight and we need the support of the fans, they should get behind the team no matter the situation.”

The Akure club will be without the duo of Thompson Ezekiel and Rock Durand in the game.

Ezekiel picked up a hip injury in the game against Nasarawa United and won’t be able to face his former club, while Durand is still recovering from a thigh injury.
