The Super Eagles team doctor, Ibrahim Abubakar Gyaran is due in London in a few days to be part of a capacity building Sports Science and Medicine programme.
The programme,themed Football Medicine Strategies for Player Care and Science Football Summit is organized by the World Soccer Governing Body,FIFA in conjunction with the Isokinetic Group.
An elated Gyaran expressed his appreciation to the National Sports Commission(NSC) and the Nigeria Football Federation(NFF)for facilitating his participation in the programme,promising to make the knowledge acquired available for the development of sports in Nigeria.
“I will make sure that the knowledge I acquire is positively impacted on Nigerian sports especially football,”Gyaran said.
“I am also aware that the leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation,in their new thinking also want the National Team doctors and physiotherapists to transfer some of their knowledge to the medics at the clubsides.This is commendable and I will be looking forward to the opportunity to share some of the new methods of player care and science with the clubs very soon,”Gyaran added.
The Sports Medicine and Science Summit will hold at the Queens Elizabeth Conference Center in London from April 11-13,2015.
