Super Eagles Miss Opening Day Actions

The Super Eagles did not watch the opening ceremony and the first game of the World Cup between hosts, Brazil and Croatia on Thursday evening, as the match started around the same time the team had been scheduled to start training.

In the morning of Thursday, June 12, the squad had fitness training at the gym located inside the Vitoria Hotel Concept, Campinas.

The training held Thursday was not for public consumption, similar to what happened on Wednesday afternoon.

However, journalists were allowed to cover the first 15 minutes before being ordered off the training ground at Estadio Brinco de Ouro.

Thursday afternoon’s practice, which was led by Stephen Keshi and his lieutenants; Daniel Amokachi and Ike Shorounmu, Completesportsnigeria.com gathered, focused on endurance, defensive and attacking drills, and set piece training.

After training for two hours, the team returned to their hotel in Campinas.

The Eagles will depart Sao Paulo for Curitibas, venue of their World Cup opener against Iran, on Saturday.
