The Super Eagles are scheduled to land in Port Harcourt this evening for Monday’s pre-World Cup friendly against the Democratic Republic of Congo, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
A Nigeria Football Federation official told CSN that the Eagles will arrive in the Rivers State capital at around 6pm and stay at Le Meridien Ogeyi Place in the GRA.
The team has been training in Uyo since the beginning of the week, with 29 of the 30 invited to the provisional World Cup squad present. Only Victor Moses is missing, having been given permission to join up with the rest of the squad in London, where they will play England on 2 June at the iconic Wembley Stadium.
Meanwhile, Leopards of Democratic Republic of Congo have settled down in Port Harcourt ahead on Monday’s international friendly encounter against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
The players and their officials CSN learnt arrived the Garden City from Kinshasa on Friday morning aboard the country’s national airline, Congo Airways.
They are currently lodged at the Presidential Hotel, Port Harcourt.
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Benik Afobe is part of the squad but Everton star Yannick Bolasie did not make the trip.
Florent Ibenge’s men also also had their first training session at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium, Port Harcourt few hours after their arrival.
The Congolese failed to failed to qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, losing their group ticket to the Tunisia.
