Nigeria’s World Cup Foes Iceland Thrash Indonesia In Friendly

By Johnny Edward: Super Eagles group opponents at the forthcoming 2018 World Cup in Russia, Iceland, defeated a selected side from Indonesia 6-0 in a friendly fixture played at Jakarta Stadium on Thursday, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
 
Goals from Andri Runar Bjarnason, Kjartan Finnbogason, Ottar Magnus Karlsson,Tryggvi Hrafn Haraldsson, Hjoertur Hermannsson and Holmar Oern Eyjolfsson gave the largely second-string Iceland side an emphatic win in the encounter.
 
Iceland are expected to face the main Indonesian national team on Sunday in another test game.
 
Iceland have been grouped with Argentina, Nigeria, and Croatia in Group D of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.  
 
The small nation topped Group I of their UEFA qualifying group that included Croatia, Ukraine, Turkey, Finland, and Kosovo losing just twice in the 10 matches – scoring 16 goals and conceding seven.
