Super Falcons’ Stars Emerge League Champions In Belarus

Nigeria’s Tawa Ishola, Gift Otuwe, Esther Sunday and Onome Ebi have been crowned Belarus women’s league champions for 2014 with FK Minsk.

Ishola emerged as the third leading scorer in the league with 18 goals behind Liana Mirashnichenka and Diana Tropnykora with 24 and 23 goals, respectively.

The ex-Bayelsa Queens star also scored a goal in the Super Cup and five more to help them lift the FA Cup.

The 25-year-old midfielder played for Bayelsa Queens from 2005 to 2010, Sunshine Queens from 2011 to 2012 and Ibom Angels in 2013.

She has also featured for Nigeria at African Women’s Championship, FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup and the Olympics.

The duo of Onome Ebi and Esther Sunday were both in the Falcons’ team that won the 2014 African Women Championship in Namibia.
