By Izuchukwu Okosi:
There is excitement in the camp of Nigeria's women national team, the Super Falcons, as they get ready to play Canada, the host nation of the 2015 Women's World Cup, in a friendly game in Toronto.
The Nigeria Football Federation made good their pledge of securing quality friendlies for Edwin Okon's team and Completesportsnigeria.com on Friday has confirmed that the Falcons will indeed square up against the Canadian ladies on Monday in the first of their tune-up friendlies.
An influential player of the team who pleaded anonymity told Completesportsnigeria.com from the team's hotel in Canada of how excited the players are over the upcoming game.
"Kudos to the NFF for making it possible for us to play some of the best teams in these friendly matches before the World Cup," the player, one of the team's big stars, confides in completecportsnigeria.com. "The team is focused and it is important that we play countries like Canada, New Zealand and others.
"We will play Canada on Monday although that is the only game I have details on."
She further informed that the players who arrived in Canada via France on Wednesday are in good physical shape.
She added: "Everybody (players) is fit. Most of us arrived with the officials from Nigeria while few came from their bases. We can't wait for the World Cup. We are alright, no injuries, no sort of complaints."
Nigeria, the African champions, will play in Group D of the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, which is the seventh edition of the World Cup. They are pooled alongside USA, Sweden and Australia.
