Swansea Boss Clement: We’re Confident, Ready For Man United Clash

Swansea manager Paul Clement on Thursday spoke to the media at his press conference ahead of his team’s Saturday English Premier League fixture against Manchester United with the sale of midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton the most anticipated question ahead of the session.

“Gylfi did not come to America on the (pre season) tour because he was convinced the deal (to Everton) would go through the weekend we went away,” Clement disclosed on Thursday.

“We’ve never had a disciplinary issue with Gylfi. When he rejoined after the tour we decided that he doesn’t take part in the other games. If he got injured then the deal might have fallen through.”

On the club’s transfers plans before the window closes, Clement who asked with Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern Munich said:

“There is potential for two or three players, which would strengthen the squad. I’m not going to talk about individual players.”

Clement claims the Welsh side are not fazed by the clash against early league leaders Manchester United.

“We go into the United game confident. Our club record against them is encouraging,” Clement stressed.
