Switzerland came from a goal down to defeat Sebia 2-1 in a Group E clash at the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup in Kaliningrad on Friday night.
Xherdan Shaqiri scored the winner, firing in a shot from close range.
Aleksandar Mitrovic gave Serbia the lead in the fifth minute with a powerful header before Granit Xhaka restored parity in the 52nd minute.
Blerim Dzemaili created the first chance in the ninth minute after the goal but missed it.
Mitrovic then headed over the Switzerland crossbar in the 14th minute before Milinkovic Savic misses target from 25 yards.
Switzerland had a golden chance to equalise in the 30th minute came when Dzemaili found Haris Seferovic in the box but Vladimir Stojkovic was onnhand to save his shot.
In the second half, Xhaka’s long range shot drew Switzerland level before Shaqiri sealed the win in stoppage time.
All of Brazil, Switzerland and Serbia can still qualify from the group.
Switzerland will meet Costa Rica in the final round of matches on 27 June in Group E while Serbia will face Brazil in their final group game.
