Tanzanian national football team players breezed into Uyo and fell in love with the aesthetic beauty of the Akwa Ibom state capital but the players insist they won't be distracted from the task of beating Nigeria on home soil.
Speaking to Completesportsnigeria.com on Friday afternoon, defensive midfielder Hamid Mao admitted they have ve been wowed by the town as well as the five-star Le Meridien Hotel where they are lodged for Saturday's dead-rubber AFCON qualifying fixture against the Super Eagles of Nigeria.
"Uyo is fine and the hotel here is beautiful but we want to beat your team," Mao told Completesportsnigeria.com.
"You escaped in Dar es Salam but you won't do that on Saturday. We'll take all three points."
Both teams played out a goalless draw in what was former Super Eagles manager Sunday Oliseh's first game in charge but Saturday's game has been rendered a formality after Egypt beat all comers to the sole ticket in the group.
