Nigerian left-back Taye Taiwo has advocated that the majority of the players that prosecuted the just ended 11th All Africa Games make the cut for the Nigerian team to the CAF U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal which will serve as qualifiers to the 2016 Olympics in Rio De Janiero.
Speaking on the possibility of overhauling the team before the U-23 AFCON, the HJK Helsinki of Finland defender disagrees with the idea whilst speaking with completesportsnigeria.com on Sunday from Helsinki, Finland .
“I do not support a situation whereby most of the players lose their places. We could have few players injected in the U-23 team but I hope the cohesion will be there in Senegal when they go for the U23 Championship,” Taiwo, who played under current U-23s coach Samson Siasia, told completesportsnigeria.com.
“Samson Siasia has a good team. The core of his team should be around during the 2016 Olympics qualifiers.
