Team Nigeria Badminton squad recorded a massive lift in their medal quest at the on-going 11th All Africa Games here in Congo Brazzaville on Tuesday.
The West African nation’s squads in men and female doubles events zoomed into the semi finals on Tuesday.
The teams would stand a chance of picking medals of whatever colour with victories the last four stages.
The badminton games were decided Tuesday at the Revolution Hall badminton pitch, Congo Brazzaville.
Meanwhile, Team Nigeria women’s Volleyball team’s chances of progressing into the semi finals of the event here at the on-going 11th All Africa Games now stand on slippery ground.
This follow their 3-0 defeat Tuesday by Team Kenya inside the volleyball court of the GAMD Stadium.
The Nigerian girls had earlier played two games in the group, losing to Team Algeria and defeating Mozambique.
They will face Cape Verde on Thursday before closing the group B elimination series with Cameroon on Saturday.
They will need to avoid defeat in their remaining two games including Thursday’s clash with Cape Verde to retain any hope of qualifying for the semi finals of the event.
