Relegation bound TEAP Football club displayed the ugly side of the domestic football league Saturday at Ilorin Stadium when they abandoned their week 29 game with hosts, Kwara United despite taking a shock 2-0 lead in the first 22 minutes, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
Tunde Adams handed the visitors the unlikely lead seven minutes after the kickoff while Sule Mohammed doubled the lead in the 22nd minute.
But the game took a sad twist in the 43rd minute when the referee Ibrahim, Majidadi pointed to the penalty spot after a Kwara United striker was brought to the ground inside the area.
Completesportsnigeria.com reports that the TEAP players opted to stage a walk-out after their coach called them off to the sideline, where they sat, refusing to have the penalty kick taken until after the first half, prompting the referee to call off the game after waiting for the mandatory 15 minutes of grace.
