An African online travel agency Travelstart Nigeria and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines have signed an agreement to fly Nigeria’s female Bobsled and Skeleton team to the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.
The Winter Olympics will be held from 9 February to 25 February, 2018.
Athletes Seun Adigun, Ngozi Onwumere, Akuoma Omeoga and Simidele Adeagbo will represent Nigeria in the winter Olympics bobsledding race, the first time ever the country will be represented at the Winter Games.
Completesportsnigeria.com was informed by Travelstart’s Country Manager in Nigeria, Philip Akesson, that the firm is pleased to support the team’s quest in achieving an historic feat at the games.
“As Africa’s largest online travel agency, we are excited to use our resources and our partnership with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines to get the Nigerian Team to their first Winter Olympics,” Akesson, told CSN.
“The team’s resilience, passion, go-getter attitude towards achieving their goals is admirable, and is a message that resonates deeply with our company values.”
Also reacting to the partnership was the general manager Air France KLM Nigeria and Ghana, Michel Colleau, who believes the ambition of the Nigerian Bobsled and Skeleton team sets them apart and embodies the company’s ambitions.
“The Nigerian Bobsled and Skeleton team are a group of young ladies who are innovative, dynamic, ambitious, pacesetters, and resilient,” Colleau told CSN during the unveiling of the travel package in Lagos.
“We are pleased to unveil today a driving partnership with Travelstart to fly the team to South Korea to support their quest for gold.
“At KLM we are always looking for ways to be innovative, we care about our customers and we are also interested in supporting the countries we fly to.”
The full team will fly from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos through Amsterdam to Incheon International Airport in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea.
